PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Mā te Atua me te wāhi ngaro tātou e tiaki e manaaki
May God and the origins of which all things come from, bless and keep us
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace”
Kia Ora whanau, Nī hao jānting,
As we continue to celebrate our students successes both inside and outside of the classroom this week, I am continually reminded of just how resilient they are becoming. Their engagement in Pet Day, Our speech champions as well as their participation in Ngati Whai today - WOW!
Pet Day
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who made the day such a success - these photos are evidence of the fun that was had and maybe the late night icing cakes!
Speeches
WOW! - The standard, quality and content of all speeches presented this year was super high. We thanked Whaea Mary Kippenberger for providing such insightful feedback to all our contestants. Last night both Greer Webster and Sariah Taufa represented our school at the interschool Rotary Speech competitions and did themselves and our school proud.
Ngati Whai
Ka mau te wehi, Me whakahīhī ka tika: Well done, you should feel proud
To all our whanau who attended our Ngati Whai performance this morning, kia ora! Our tamariki did themselves and our school proud.
Leading in Faith, Learning for Life
This week we celebrate a kiwi-driven initiative launched in 2014 to acknowledge and celebrate the learning of Chinese in New Zealand. We acknowledge, celebrate and wish all our Chinese families at St Josephs School and around Aotearoa an enriched week
We pray that God continue to bless and keep all our learning community safe and well during this blessed and much looked forward to 2 week break.

The year 8s made a sausage sizzle to raise money for their hoodies, they raised $546, and a big thanks to all the parents who contributed and thanks to Cooper Jackson for helping the year 8’s even though he is a year 5.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday

CATHOLIC CHARACTER
We thank you Lord, for this term. For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others. To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen

PFG Update (St Joseph's Parents and Friends Fundrasing Group)
Hello!
Friday - PIE day
Pie lunches again this week.
A BIG thank you for our hard working helping hands this term - parent help Amanda Austin and student helpers Ella Jackson, Isla Malcolm as well as Mrs Alexander!!! Thank you, we couldn't have done it without you.
We held our meeting Monday night and unfortunately no one new was able to join us. We are in desperate mode of needing new members. Please reach out to find out more, contact details below or grab any of our team to have a chat: Mrs Alexander, Sarah Tate, LeeAnn Ayto, Chris Auckrum, Jen Hobson, Rachael Riddell or Sarah Martin.
Shearing Fundraiser
Some of you may remember we were hosted at the Malcolm's Shearing sheds last year, where we held an amazing Shearing Fundraiser. This year we again have the opportunity to do this in mid November. We are hoping to be able to do 500 lambs in a day and we need your help.
Looking for interest:
If you are able to come along and shear for 3 hours (we are doing shifts) please make contact with Rob Malcolm on 021 027 09190 or Sarah Martin on 021 025 00654.
There are also a number of other supporting jobs that will need to be filled, again please contact one of us. It's a fun day and families are welcome to come along and see what it's all about. The farm is only a few minutes from town.
We really hope to build this committee and this community together.
