What Starts Here Changes The World...
Hello Lakeside Families and Friends,
It has been so nice to hear the sounds of kids at Lakeside once again. We hope this transition to face to face has been a smooth and that the updated delivery of remote instruction has been positive as well.
Please continue to refer to the CISD Return to School page on the district website (https://www.coppellisd.com/returntoschool) for additional updates.
Thank you for being a part of our WORLD CHANGING community.

Please complete this Daily Home Screening for Students for any students who will be on campus.
From our Counselor
Hi Lakeside families! I want to tell you about the 4 character traits we will be focusing on this year for Citizens of Character. We will talk about one specific trait each 9 weeks. Teachers will be looking for students who display this quality and those students will be recognized. We will start with patience, followed by resilience, gratitude and compassion.
We are all practicing patience as we learn new things. Patience is calmly working, waiting and not complaining. It is having the ability to wait, accept delays or continue doing something difficult without becoming angry or anxious. A recent example is the experience we have had with distance learning. Administrators, teachers, parents and students learned to do something new without much preparation. We are now moving into the phase of learners attending school virtually and in person. Again, patience as we learn this process is key for all of us. You can reinforce our character trait at home when opportunities arise to talk to your children about being patient to help them develop this skill.
Thank you for all that you do for your learners.

Some Reminders & Noteworthy Items
- iPads...Please bring your fully charged iPad to school everyday. iPads are a required resource. We do not have additional iPads that can be checked out.
- Tardies will begin tomorrow morning. All of our face to face kids need to be in the building and in their room by the time the 7:40 tardy bell rings.
- Masks - please remember to send a mask and possibly a back up with your child.
- Water bottles - please remember to send a labeled and refillable water bottle with your child.
Thank you
Our fabulous PTO has purchased breakaway lanyards for our children and staff. We will be distributing those lanyards at the start of next week. When your child comes home with this red mask lanyard we urge you to label it with your child's name. If you already have a preferred lanyard or if you choose not to use the lanyard you are welcome to send it back or not use it. We will be unable to replace missing lanyards.
Speaking of our fabulous PTO. They have also supported our campus with teacher desk shields, some student desk shields for specialized programs, and supplies for our secondary clinic.
Thank you to our AMAZING PTO and thank you to our families that support and partner with our PTO for the benefit of our kids!

If you have not picked up your 2019-2020 yearbook, it has been sent to your child's homeroom class and will be waiting for his or her return to face-to-face instruction. If you have unenrolled your child from Lakeside, please email lakesideptocoppell@gmail.com so we can make other arrangements for you to pick up your yearbooks. This includes the alumni who are currently in 6th grade.
