Panther Pause
20 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
3.10.17
Panthers,
The school year has continued to fly by, and Spring Break 2017 is already upon us. The next thing we know is that we will be calling names at graduation on June 1st. I am incredibly proud of the the things our students have accomplished this school year. We have made school history this year, but the final chapter has not yet been written. I look forward to what we have in store for the final chapter following spring break. I hope everyone will have a safe and happy week, and I look forward to seeing everyone afterward. GO PANTHERS!!

Student Voice
Something I enjoy most about Colleyville Heritage is the strong sense of community throughout the school. We have a very united student body, and you can always count on a teacher or fellow student to be there for you when you need help. As well as this, our school never fails to support and cheer on our many teams or clubs!
Another thing I enjoy most about my school are the many opportunities that are provided for the students. Not only are there countless clubs and organizations to participate in, but we are also given the chance to to engage in certain exclusive events that other schools could only dream of. For example, I was recently chosen to be a part of the three day "Soaring Valor" trip to the Nation WWII museum in New Orleans, Louisiana. On this trip, each student was paired with a WWII veteran and accompanied them throughout the whole three days. I can easily say without a doubt, that I will never forget the memories I made during this trip, or the friendship that was created between my veteran, David, and I. He shared countless stories of his experiences as a Petty Officer 2nd class in the South Pacific and was always quick to say how lucky I was that I didn't have to eat the horrid foods they were faced with on the ship! I am so thankful our school was able to participate in this, and allow me to learn from our greatest generation.

ACCEPTED Wall
Exciting New Endeavor! CHHS PTSA is collaborating with CHHS AVID to create a space on our campus that will showcase the accomplishments of our CHHS seniors and where they have been accepted to college. It will be called an ACCEPTED Wall. The purpose of the ACCEPTED Wall is to highlight exceptional college campuses all over the United States and beyond, and to start a conversation about how and why to choose a school of higher learning.
Here is how students and parents can help:
1. We would like pennants from colleges that you visit. While you are on a tour, pick up a pennant to donate. They can be dropped at the CHHS office beginning Tuesday, January 17th .
2. When you receive acceptance confirmation and decide on a college, scan your letter and send it Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org. These will be framed and hung on the ACCEPTED Wall.
Questions? Contact Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org
