About the Workshop:
The purpose of this workshop is to show participants that summarization techniques are critical to use when working with students of all ages. Attendees will learn by doing and leave with a “toolkit” of differentiated summarization strategies to use in any content area that will help engage students and increase retention.

Outcomes:
Educators will be able to describe what summarization is, and:
- how to use it
- why to use it
- when to use it
- where to use it
- how often to use it, and
- how to differentiate summarization for preferred learning styles and multiple intelligences.
About the Presenter
Sue Bergman, M.Ed. is an Adjunct Professor at Plymouth State University and originator of Learning Is Contagious! LLC. She has over twenty years of experience working in the field of education in a variety of roles: traditional classroom teacher, Enrichment Coordinator, Writing Coach, Professional Development Presenter, District Mentor, Collaborative Coach, and Literacy Interventionist. For the past ten years, Sue has combined her years of experience and a dash of humor with best practices in education to present engaging workshops for educators in an assortment of pertinent topics ranging from Differentiated Instruction to Google Search Tools.
