Dear Westbrook Families,

We had a great spirit week celebrating kindness at Westbrook School. This week, PTO and room representatives provided classroom parties for our first grade and kindergarten students. Students participated in a class picture, game, and spring craft. Art Appreciation was moved to May 3rd through 6th. Students can look forward to drawing and recording a message of kindness.

Our clerical assistant, Joellen Fitzgerald, has taken a new position outside the district. We wish her the very best with her new adventure. We are excited to share that Kris Gorby has accepted the open clerical assistant position. Kris is looking forward to starting at Westbrook sometime next week. Kris lives in Mount Prospect, and she has children at Fairview and Lincoln.

Starting Monday, May 2nd, we will celebrate Staff Appreciation Week. Please consider having your child write a card or draw a picture for their teachers and instructional assistants. We will also celebrate our wonderful nurses next Friday, May 6th. Our nurses have been incredible throughout the pandemic.

Kona Ice Reminder

PLAN AHEAD! Central Road Railroad Crossing Closure: April 30 - May 6

Union Pacific will be performing track repairs to the Central Road railroad crossing beginning the morning of Saturday, April 30th through the evening of Friday, May 6th. Central Road will be completely closed in both directions.

The District's bus provider, First Student, is aware of this closure and asks for your patience and understanding during this time. They ask that you allow 5-10 extra minutes if this closure impacts your child's route to and from Westbrook. We recommend signing up for Bus Bulletin.
