President's Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in last week's Winter Walk to School Day. A very special thank you to Sarah Lerand for coordinating Friday's event as well as for her hard work and dedication to McKinley's Safe Routes to School program throughout the year.
Please join us tomorrow night for the Chick-fil-A Dine Out Fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. at the 124th & Capitol Dr. location. Be sure to drop your receipt in the designated boxes onsite and 20% of those sales will go to McKinley.
This Friday is our March Madness/Sports Wear spirit day. Whether your child wears McKinley red or something from their favorite sports team, we look forward to seeing your pride!
The Adult Social is this Saturday. If you haven't registered to attend the event yet, it's your last chance to purchase tickets. The Adult Social is McKinley's largest fundraiser of the year with this year's proceeds going to support our Art and Music programs. I look forward to seeing you there!

Take the night off from cooking and come eat some chicken to support McKinley!

The McKinley Adult Social Hawaiian Luau is this Saturday, March 3rd. It’s your last chance to get tickets!!

Destination Imagination Tournament Congrats!
CONGRATULATIONS to the all the outstanding Destination Imagination teams' performances this past weekend!
Our Service Learning Team: Ceili Callahan, Molly Hambrook, Claudia Rahn, Addison Scharlau, Ava Schwantes, Abbey Tank, and Brielle Willems and managed by Megan Hambrook and Shana Callahan took second place! They will be headed to the State Tournament in Steven's Point in March. McKinley should be very proud of all of our DI teams!!!
McKinley Messengers - Family Fun Night Cakewalk Thank You!
The McKinley Messengers raised $626.25 from the Family Fun Night Cakewalk! The money raised will be donated to the McKinley Emergency Lunch Fund.
Special thanks to:
- Everyone who donated baked goods for the cakewalk! Your efforts are truly appreciated.
- The Messengers who volunteered to set-up and coordinate the cakewalk the night of Family Fun Night - Charlie Hannan, Milo Hagopian-Smith, Ben Wozniak, Molly Hambrook, Norah O'Tool, Ava Schwantes, Abbey Tank, Niamh Wick, Chloe Standal, Isabella Miller, Addison Scharlau, Faye Muma, Ellie Scholtus, Meghan Brandenburg and Olivia Dupee. You should be so proud!
- Ms. Oschwald & Mrs. Petri for making the arrangements for the cakewalk and Ms. Oschwald for lending a helping hand with the cakewalk after a full day of teaching!

Winter Walk to School Day Thank You
Thank you to the McKinley community for demonstrating the benefits of walking to school last Friday. A special thank you to Corey Double Boldt, Power's Realty Group for providing snacks, hot chocolate and coffee on both playgrounds. Girl Scout Book Drive
The 2nd grade Brownie Troop is holding a book drive for Next Door Milwaukee. This is an organization that promotes reading and provides books to families and teachers throughout Milwaukee.
We are collecting new or gently used books for 0-5 year olds. The drive will run Monday, February 19- Monday, March 5. Books can be placed in the bin near the school office. Please consider donating!

How Do I Become a Member of the PTO?
You already are! If you are a parent, guardian or teacher at McKinley Elementary School, you are a member of the PTO.
Interested in becoming more involved? The PTO is always looking for help. Volunteer opportunities in areas of marketing, communication, social media coordination, event coordination, website design, merchandising and more! There are volunteer opportunities that fit everyone's schedule - during school hours, after school hours, work from home hours and one time event hours.
