OCS Newsletter

September 2023

Dear Families,

The first days of school have been wonderful. All students are settling in well and enjoying time with their teachers and peers. Classrooms are discussing community and a sense of belonging. As a school we continue to reinforce our Wildcat pride by being safe, responsible, and respectful. This Friday our school-wide Wildcat Pride Assembly will focus on those three areas and we love when students show their school pride by wearing blue and white or their OCS spirit wear. If your child/family would like to purchase OCS spirit wear please click the link, https://www.calicographics.com/group_orders.htm. The PTO is sponsoring this fundraiser through September 17th.

The beginning of the school year is also a great time to review procedures. Please take a moment to review some important information below to help your child have a successful school year. If you have any questions throughout the year please call our office at 603-539-4589.

Sincerely,

Andrea Fournier

Principal

ATTENDANCE

As always please be sure your child attends school regularly and try to limit the amount of days they are absent from school. We know there will be times when you child is sick and cannot come to school however, limiting non-sick days off from school is encouraged. If your child is going to be absent, please notify the office. We hope your family will help ensure good attendance and promptness to school. If your child is absent or tardy please send in a note or call the school. If your child will be dismissed or requires a bus stop change, please send in a note or call the school before 2:30pm.

ARRIVAL

Students may be dropped off at the front of the building and families are asked to stay in their car during drop off. Students in grades K-6 are welcome to enter the building at 8:30am. Breakfast is available at 8:30am and it is most helpful for students eating breakfast to arrive at that time. Students are considered tardy at 9:00am. AM preschool students may arrive to school at 9:00am. PM preschool students may arrive to school at 12:30pm.

DISMISSAL

Parent Pick-Up

The parent pick up line begins in the baseball field parking lot. Staff members will begin directing cars at 3:15pm. Students are dismissed at 3:15pm and all families will be directed along the front of the school and a staff member will walk your child out to the car. Please stay in cars while staff bring your child out to the car. Do not park in the front entrance or kitchen parking spots. Those parking spots are reserved only for school visitors or a scheduled conference at the school.

Walkers

Walkers are also dismissed at 3:15pm through the entrance by the flagpole and crosswalk. Students sign themselves out of the office and then are escorted out of the building by a staff member.

Bus Riders

Students riding the bus leave school between 3:15 and 3:30pm.

SCHOOL LUNCHES

The school lunch menu for the month of September was sent home last week. This information can also be found on our school website if your paper copy gets misplaced. Free and reduced lunch paperwork has also been sent home. Please be sure to fill out the form and return to school or you may fill out the form online at https://www.myschoolapps.com if needed.

The cost of breakfast is $1.50 and lunch is $3.00. If your child would like a milk with their cold lunch it is $0.40. You may send in meal money in an envelope with your child's name or add money to their account at http://www.myschoolbucks.com.

InfoSnap/PowerSchool Registration

Many PowerSchool online registrations have been completed -- thank you! If you have not completed this online registration, please do so as soon as possible. It is important that the school has your contact information so that you can receive important "School Messenger" announcements via phone, text, and email.

When you complete the PowerSchool registration a copy of the Student/Parent Handbook is available there, however if you would like to review it throughout the year, it is available on our school's webpage, http://www.ossipeecentralschool.org.
