Early Life of John Cabot

John Cabot was born in 1450, in Liverpool, England. He moved to Venice in 1461 and became a Venetian citizen in 1476. It is believed that he was a merchant involved in the Spice trade. In 1484 he moved back to England with his family.

The Achievements of John Cabot

John Cabot reached and explored new found land in 1497, which was later to be Canada. John having discovered and exploring part of Canada he was one of the first people to discover part of North America. John Cabot was also very wealthy and most believed that he was the first billionaire of England.

The Death of John Cabot

It is actually unknown as to how John Cabot died. But it is believed that he was lost at sea and never reached England.

John Cabot's Impact on the World

John Cabot's discoveries under the English crown dramatically helped England get their first colonies in the new world. the colonies that John discovered later became Canada and America. By sailing to newly found land in the Americas under the English flag, John Cabot solidified his name in history.
