Morning Music Selection of the Week at HES!
John Williams was the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra for many years, and he also wrote (or composed) the music for many movies. Even at the age of 85 he continues to write music. The music that was written for the Steven Spielberg movies is probably his best-known work.
The Raiders March, which is also known as the Indiana Jones' theme, began as two songs played on the piano by composer John Williams. He invited Steven Spielberg to his performance and Spielberg asked him to link the two songs together to create the Raiders March. The song was composed around 1980 and it has been used in every Indiana Jones movie since that year. The music was first heard in its full version during the ending credits of the first film.
I hope you enjoy the music this week.
