Wanna Hear Yourself and Your Students Online? Try VoiceThread

Voice Thread is a GREAT Web 2.0 tool that you can use in your classrooms and we could even use to collaborate with each other. The short video below gives an overview of what it is and how you might use it. (Ignore the parts about Penn State)

If it looks interesting to you, let's talk! I'd love to help out with a classroom project using VoiceThread.

I regularly put out book suggestions for both high school and middle school students. A teacher was glancing through the list and said, "You should ask STAFF for their suggestions". This is a great idea - so here is my request:

If you have a book you'd like to recommend to either level, email me the name, author and a short summary (2-4 sentences). (I know Amy K will be the first one to do this!) You could even forgoe the summary and just write WHY you liked the book. When I have 6-8 suggestions at each level, I'll put them out. The students would LOVE to see which books their teachers are reading or really liked.

Fine print: it would be best if we actually had, in the media center, the book you are recommending. :)

Please remind your students to look for and return overdue books.

Don't forget to check out the latest posts on our blog. One of the recents is a call out for creative students to digitally make their own Navajo Patterns and then have them displayed in the Media Center. Encourage students to do it! Maybe lead the way and do one of your own. Click below for blogging fun!
