A note from Mrs. Johansen
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far! It always amazes me how fast the summer goes after the 4th of July holiday!
Our custodial staff has been working diligently to get our building ready for staff and students to arrive in August. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group of custodians to get our building in tip-top shape!
Within the next few weeks, you'll receive a series of emails that include updates for the start of the school year. Please be sure to read everything thoroughly. There will NOT be a paper summer mailing this year. We want to make sure that we get the word out to families that they must re-register online through Infinite Campus in order to stay on top of information that will be sent out. This includes teacher assignments. Those will be posted in Infinite Campus on August 9th at 5 pm.
Please be sure to follow the school on Facebook and Twitter at @SanbornTigers to stay up to speed on all current information, as well.
We look forward to seeing you and your children in August! Please be sure to mark your calendars for the Back to School Picnic on August 16th from 6:00-8:00. It's always a great time!
Fondly,
Erika Johansen
From Mrs. Kessler and Mrs. Jenkinson, our Sanborn Reading Specialists
Hello Sanborn Families!
Summer can be a busy time, but there is always time for reading if you are a little creative. We are hoping you can “catch” your child reading somewhere comfy or unexpected! We thought it would be fun to collect pictures of staff and students reading over the summer.
Here’s what you need to do: Take a picture of your child or children reading. Be creative if you’d like! It can be while on vacation, at a baseball game, buried in the sand, in the car, while playing soccer...whatever you think. Please email the picture to Mrs. Kessler at kesslerj@ccsd15.net anytime over the summer or send a hard copy of the picture to school with your child no later than Wednesday, August 21st. They will be on display in time for Parent Orientation!
You can also post your pictures to social media with #SanbornReads

Can’t wait to see what (and where) you are reading!
Happy Reading!
