Principal's Message
I am extremely excited for what the 19-20 school year holds for HMS. I hope you are enjoying your summer. I am so very grateful for the opportunity to serve as Principal of HMS. I look forward to partnering with you to create a magical middle school experience for your students. I wanted to take a moment to share some important back-to-school information.
First, our AMAZING PTSA is hosting a Ice Cream Social Meet and Greet on August 6th from 6-7pm in the HMS SAC. It is a come and go event so feel free to scoop on in, say "hi", and grab your favorite ice cream. We're so thankful to Baskin Robbins for sponsoring this event.
Bronco Camp is August 15th for all Incoming 6th Graders & 7th/8th Graders new to GCISD. Schedule of events is as follows:
Thursday, August 15th
Students: 9:00(Gym)-11:30
Schedule pickup, activities, tour, Q & A
Parents: 10:45-11:30
Parent information meeting in the HMS Cafeteria.
Registration for returning students opened on July 22nd. All returning families will need to go to the district website under "Student Registration" to complete the process. As a reminder, if you currently live at the same address you will confirm the address in Skyward. If you have moved over the summer you will be required to provide proof of residency at the campus on Thursday, August 15th, during schedule pick-up.
Much more information will be coming in the upcoming weeks for your reference. Please help spread the word to those in your circle. Have a great evening and we'll see you soon!
Thank you!

Tech Corner
Ensuring your Student's District Technology is Ready for the 2019-20 School Year
As we get close to the start of school, it's important; we make sure your students have all the supplies and tools needed to be successful. If your child has a district-issued iPad/Chromebook or laptop, now is the time to look it over.
Most common things to look for when checking out your student's devices:
1. Cracked or damaged screen
2. Missing keys
3. Lost chargers
Remember for district IPads crack screens while in the protective district case is free* to repair.
GCISD technology provides summer repair services, so act now to help eliminate any lost instructional time for device repairs at the start of school. Click the link below for information on summer device repair.
https://www.gcisd.net/cms/One.aspx?portalId=96313&pageId=23319561
*few only applies if blatant misuse has occurred ( ran over by vehicles, thrown off buildings, etc.) and actual iPad screen is damaged.
Student Skyward logins have changed
To better serve our students, GCISD technology has migrated all Student logins into Skyward to match their network logins. Students will no longer need to remember a separate login when trying to access Skyward.
As a reminder, please encourage students to use Classlink to login. By using Classlink students will get instant access into all their district resources without having to remember passwords or links.
HMS Volunteer Hours
Did you volunteer on behalf of HMS in April?
Bronco Parents! Please log any HMS volunteer hours at www.heritagemiddlepta.com/volunteer

Time volunteering for ANY HMS activity (band, athletics, choir, drama, dance, cheer, PTA, etc) count! Log any hours done at home, school, or in the community.
