Dear Richland Families,

It's Red Ribbon Week! The theme involves anti-drugs and anti-bullying. Jared Campbell, our favorite assembly presenter who returns each year, kicks off the week with his message of kindness and anti-bullying on Monday. Check out his music and message here! Our spirit days are below.

Catch lots of highlights below from our first Family Festival. It was a wonderful night with lots of fun! Thank you to our PTO for organizing such an awesome event.

Mid-trimester progress reports will be emailed home on Thursday. Conference dates are included in this newsletter. More photos from our Digital Citizenship spirit week are in this newsletter too!

Friday is Richland's Halloween Parade, and it looks like a beautiful day! Please see details below. Families are invited to watch the parade at our bus loop area on the black top.

PTO SPONSORED LUNCH FOR STAFF

RICHLAND STAFF FALL LUNCHEON

It's that time of year again! PTO wanted to do something special for the Richland Teachers and Staff! Teachers/parent conferences are during the week of Nov 6th. With your help, we can show our appreciation for teachers and staff at Richland by providing a luncheon on Monday, November 6th. Please consider donating an item or a monetray donation to help supply the teachers/staff with a delicious lunch. Here is the sign up link.

Thank you in advance for helping to make this a special event for those who help our children every day.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TIPS & TOOLS

HAND STRENGTH AND DEXTERITY

Fine motor skills involve the use of the fingers, hands, and arms for reaching, grasping and manipulating objects. Children need to build strong fine motor skills and dexterity for everything at school: writing, cutting, drawing, playing, leisure skills, self-help and more.

Click on the buttons below for tips and tools you can use with your children at home.

READING OLYMPICS AT RICHLAND!

Big picture
Richland 4th and 5th graders have an opportunity to participate in a county wide reading event, Reading Olympics. Please CLICK HERE for more information. We are looking forward to building our Reading Olympics team and kicking off practices. If your child would like to be considered for the team, they need to do 2 things in preparation for the county wide event in March…
  1. Read two books by Friday, December 8th from the Elementary Reading Olympics Book List.

  2. Officially sign up in December (information will be sent home the week of December 11th).

Voluntary before school practices are on Wednesday mornings. All 4th and 5th graders who are interested are invited to meet at Richland from 8:15-8:50. Mrs. Titus will be there to provide reading time and questioning practice.

Mark your calendars for upcoming voluntary practices from 8:15-8:50 AM!
