January 2016 Came and Went.......
REALLY QUICK!!!!
Hi sweet friends!
Can you believe that the first month of 2016 is over today?! I am amazed at how quickly time just passes! I know most of you, like me have experienced a little bit of crazy weather this year. One minute it is snowing and the next it feels like Spring! I hope you all have had an opportunity to embrace rest even in the changing temperatures.
A few "leader" things....
1.) As we have began the next semester of MOPS, have you set goals for yourself and your leadership position? I am here to help you in any way I can with your goals. I am happy to pray for you and/or with you about your goals for both yourself, your leadership position, and your groups. If you haven't set any goals, let me encourage you to do that.
2.) Also, we are still looking at MOPS group locations to host our Spring Leadership Training event. This year has an amazing theme and we are so excited to fill you up with knowledge, love, and a little laughter! If your church/group would be interested in allowing us the opportunity to have our event at your location, please let me know. We are praying for a centralized location that most of our leaders can attend.
3.) For the month of February, I get the joy of speaking to two of your MOPS groups, one in the North Nashville Area and one in Clarksville. If you are in the areas, and not a part of either of these groups but would like to meet with me, please feel free to email me and I will do my best to coordinate time to see you while in the area. Also, if your group would like me to speak in the upcoming months, please feel free to call or email me and I will do my best to prayerfully consider coming to speak. Thank you so much for those of you that have already asked me about joining a part of your summer leadership trainings/retreats to offer leadership training. I am working to book time to do that during the summer and will let you know.
As I finish up January 2016 and think about moving into February 2016 which is the month of Valentine's and Love.....I am embracing 1 John 4:19.. "we love because He first loved us." On our Facebook page, I have put up a Facebook banner image that you are welcome to use within your groups. The link for where that is found is here incase you are not on our Area19Leaders page. http://www.mops.org/ideas/?3447. I did not make this banner or create it but I am so thankful we have the opportunity to use it!
Sending love and hugs to each of you for the upcoming month. Be on the lookout for some "LOVEly ideas coming up."
Much love!!

Renee
A January Devotion is Available for you on MOPS.org
I wanted to copy this straight from the site and share it with each of you.....
"God is very interested in our future. Isaiah 43:18-19 says,
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
We can learn a lot from our past – from the things we’ve done well and the things we’ve messed up. But we shouldn’t limit our future by fixating on our past –
how we didn’t accomplish what we set out to do.
how we let someone down.
how disappointed God must be.
Regardless of our failures, we can start over.
- Thomas Edison tried 200 elements before he found the right one that made the light bulb work.
- George Washington lost 2/3 of this battles.
- Abraham Lincoln lost 10 out of 12 elections before he became President.
- Babe Ruth had 714 home runs, but he also had 1,330 strikeouts.
God is more interested in our future than he is our past.
2016 is full of possibility. It is a blank slate laid out before you. What are you going to do with it?"
Do you have any ice breaker games you can share or a neat craft you have done in your group?
