Student Of The Month

This week's Student of the Month is Hannah Brown! Hannah is an 8th-grade leader here at Polk. She is involved in many electives including, advanced choir, volleyball, and journalism. She is a skilled photographer and writer, a very talented singer, and an outstanding volleyball player. Hannah is always encouraging and supporting others and she is a kindhearted person.

Here are a few things some teachers had to say about her:

"Hannah is one of the most kind and caring students I've ever had the pleasure to work with. She is incredibly talented in so many ways but stays humble. Her sweet spirit is a light in the choir room, at Polk, and in the community. We are so proud of Hannah for being chosen as the student of the 9 weeks!" - Mrs.Liburd

"Hannah is very kind and helpful to all students. She always has a smile for those she sees, and it is contagious. She works hard and does great work and is a great leader in the classroom, and around the school. I am so happy to have her in class this year." - Ms.Peeler

Teacher Of The Month

Congratulations to 6th Grade Science Teacher Ms.Wilbanks on being voted Teacher of the Nine Weeks! Here is what she had to say about being Polk's Teacher of the Nine Weeks:

Hello! I am Ms. Wilbanks, and this is my 7th year teaching at Polk! I have been teaching 6th grade Science for most of that time, and I absolutely love it! It is so much fun to help kids navigate through their first year in Middle School with us! Science is such a fun subject too, you get to learn about the world around you and why things do what they do! This year I have been so impressed with the drive and eagerness to learn and overcome all of the struggles and newness that our students have shown! Polk is truly a community with amazing students, teachers, administrators, staff, everyone here! It feels like home here and I have felt so loved with this nomination, thank you all for it and for being so kind and sweet!
