Onekawa School Newsletter

Week 10 Term 1, Friday 8 April

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora Families

We've had another action-packed week at Onekawa School!

In today's newsletter, we share a variety of photos showing what children have been up to this week.

The teachers are now half way through the end of term phone interviews. If you haven't already booked a call, the teacher will contact you at some stage to share your child's progress.

Have a wonderful weekend Whanau!

Nga mihi,

Steve

Check out our awesome new outdoor tables!

We were able to purchase two outdoor tables with some of the proceeds from the firewood raffle.

The tables will provide a lovely place for children to chill with friends during break times.

Thanks to Mr Race for organising the tables and for laying the concrete foundations!

Covid Updates

The following information provides a snapshot of the impact of Covid in our school community this week.

Our data continues to be VERY consistent with all other weeks that have been reported. There continues to be very little spread, if any, between children at school:

  • 5 children have tested positive (1 became symptomatic at school and were sent home)

  • 13 more children have tested positive at home while isolating as household contacts

  • 32 other children are isolating as household contacts

We have a current roll of 311 so 5% of our children have tested positive for Covid this week.

PLEASE BE SURE TO CONTACT THE SCHOOL TO LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD IS ABSENT FOR ANY REASON.
