Lietz In-Person Parent Information
February 2021
Important Message from Mrs. Lopez
Hello Parents & Guardians!
We are so excited that your child(ren) will be joining us for in-person learning, beginning February 22. We are looking forward to having a great time! Please read through Lietz' In-Person Policies and Procedures linked here:
Once you have read through our policies and procedures, please click to sign our Acknowledge Form below.
Please note until an Acknowledge Form is on file, your student can not begin in-person learning.
While one of our main goals is to provide a return to classroom learning, our other main goal is to make sure we are doing that in a healthy and safe way.
As you will read in the information packet, we will be following procedures that will help us stay safe and healthy while learning in-person.
How can you help prepare your child for returning to in-person learning?
Please work on the following activities with your child(ren) prior to attending:
Practice handwashing at home
20 seconds with soap and water
We recommend singing the Happy Birthday song twice
Introduce your child(ren) to hand sanitizer
Practice wearing a masks at home to build tolerance
Start small and increase the time a little each day
How will school staff prepare your child for in-person learning?
We will conduct lessons on handwashing, safety procedures, physical distancing, and masks. The more they’re ready for it when they arrive, the easier it will be for them to adapt to these new procedures.
Thanks for all your help, and we can’t wait to see you all.
Please Watch the Following Video on What to Expect for In-Person School
Entry and Exit Gates
Lietz now has six different drop-off and pick up locations (map attached below). If you have more than one child and would like to drop them off and pick them up from one location, please contact me so that we can decide which location would be best and the paths that your children should take to their classrooms. Children will not be lining up. They will walk directly from their drop off location to their classroom and enter the room when they get there.
Another reminder that parents will not be allowed on campus when students return.
Reminders for Families Choosing In-Person Learning
Keeping our students, your families, and our staff safe is our highest priority, and it won’t be possible unless everyone follows these guidelines:
Travel Restrictions: If you travel (over 150 miles away) during the February or April breaks, you will need to quarantine for 10 days after you return. If you are choosing to have your child return to school, I strongly recommend that you postpone travel plans until summer.
The Two Cohorts Rule: Students should only be in two cohorts! If they’re returning to learning on campus, their class is one cohort. If they’re attending a child care program, that’s their second cohort. Sports teams, religious groups, tutoring, neighborhood learning pods, etc. are considered cohorts. Adhering to the “Two Cohort Rule” is essential!
Avoid public gatherings.
