Career Description
Investigate alleged or suspected criminal violations of Federal, state, or local laws to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution. Obtains evidence or establishes facts by interviewing, observing, and interrogating suspects and witnesses and analyzing records. May be designated according to agency worked for as Special Agent, FBI; Special Agent, IRS; Special Agent, Secret Service.
Entry level wage
Special Agents at entry level position will make $15.80/hr, $33k/yr. High wages consist of $55.61/hr, 116k/yr.
Degree needed for this position
Must have a high school degree or less, being bi-lingual is a plus, and can raise your annual pay.
