Teen Read Week
Next week (October 8-14) is Teen Read Week, a reading initiative created by the Young Adult Library Services Association, a branch of the American Library Association. It's aim is to promote regular reading and library use. Watch the video below to see this year's picks and click here for more information.

International Games Week
We have talked about how libraries are no longer just quiet spaces for reading, but active learning spaces. As I visit schools and talk with librarians, it is apparent that many have embraced games as a library activity. I have seen board games, chess, and Scrabble in numerous libraries and heard students excitedly talking about game play.
International Games Week is October 29-November 4, 2017. This used to be a single day event, but has expanded into a full week and promoted by the ALA Round Table for Games and Gaming. Check out their site here for more information and free stuff.
Website Reminder
I have looked at some great library websites this week! We have some very creative librarians on our team. I will be checking that your website is updated after today. All the information you need is in Google Classroom.
