Summer Staff Weekly Update #2

17.18 Longbranch Elem.

Painting Started Early

We anticipated the painting to begin in July...but they contacted us early this week and said they are starting WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14. They are asking that there be no foot traffic in the building from 7am to 4pm daily for 3 weeks while they are painting.

You may also want to avoid the evenings as wet paint will not be marked by the crew.

Sign Up for Your 17.18 Club

We're getting a jump start on clubs for 17.18 in hopes of having our first club day in September. Please sign up for the club you want to host next year. These are the clubs the kids requested.

Kindergarten Ice Cream Social

We need about 10 helping hands for this Thursday night from 5:45 until 7:15. If you can help, please let us know. I just checked the RSVPs and we have 31 families and 105 people signed up.

Math Workshop

The math workshop is this Friday at school from 8am to 4pm. There are 35 people across the district signed up. Angela Bauer sent you an email with the items she wants you to bring to the training. I'm in NISL but I'm going to be there in the morning to help her set up and then I'll try to get back again later in the day.

Porch Pop Ins

We will order two sets of postcards that will be mailed home on July 10th.
  • One set will go to students NOT receiving a porch pop in asking them to check their mailboxes the end of July for a letter from the teacher.
  • One set will go students that ARE receiving a porch pop in. The teacher can write in the date and time on the postcard that they will visit the home.

We will let you know when the postcards arrive.

Admin would love to go on porch pop ins if you'll take us with you. We can drive also.

Now Hiring Orange Ninjas--4 down and 6 to go

What is an orange ninja?
An orange ninja is a top secret LBES employee who takes on the responsibility of spreading happiness throughout the year for a specific group of staff members. You have to stay top secret ALL YEAR LONG. It doesn't have to cost money, but it can. Orange ninjas keep a pulse on their group and send positive messages, cards, candy, a cute meme from an anonymous email address, etc. throughout the year.

End in mind for orange ninjas: Spread the happy.

To apply: Let Erika know you're interested in being on this top secret team.
