What is a political revolution?
A political revolution is where a government is replaced or the form of the government is altered. Political revolutions are contrasted with social revolutions in which old property relations are overturned. The American Revolution was a POLITICAL upheaval that took place between 1765 & 1783.
American Revolution- Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars on March 5, 1770. It was the culmination of tensions in the American colonies that had been growing since Royal troops first appeared in Massachusetts in October 1768 to enforce the heavy tax burden imposed by the Townshend Acts.
French Revolution
The French Revolution began in 1789 and ended in the late 1790's. During this period, french citizens razed and redesigned their country's political landscape. This revolution was was influenced by Enlightenment ideals. Although it failed to achieve all goals, the movement played a critical role in shaping modern nations.
Russian Revolution
1971, two revolutions swept through Russia. In March, growing civil unrest, coupled with chronic food shortages, erupted into open revolt. Forcing the abdication of Nicholas II(1868-1918), the last Russian czar. Vladimir Lenin(1870-1924)
