Potter Gray After-School Program

January Newsletter

A Word from the Supervisor

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the holidays with your families. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to start this new year off as the site supervisor for Potter Gray and would like to make this transition for your children as smooth as possible. I know most of you, but am looking forward to getting to know you all more. I am in my junior year at Western Kentucky University majoring in elementary education. I hope to become a teacher and working with Community Education is helping me further prepare for that career. I want to make afterschool a fun place for your students, and firmly believe that open communication with you as parents is key! I am so excited to see what this new year has to bring.

As you may have noticed, temperatures in Bowling Green are finally starting to feel like actual winter! Since the temperatures are dropping so rapidly, we need your help with keeping your kiddos warm while they enjoy playing outside. Please send your child with a coat every day. Students who do not have coats will not be permitted to go outside and will have to participate in indoor activities. Speaking of coats, our lost and found is starting to pile up. If your children are missing items that you think they may have misplaced during after-school, please come see me or any of the other staff members and we will do our best to get that collection of items returned to their rightful owners. If you have any questions, needs, or concerns please just let me know!

Sincerely,

Liz Kindma
