Begindergarten through Grade 2 Grandfriends Day is Coming!
No School Friday, October 7 and Monday, October 10
A Note from the Principal
Parents, I need your help with a few issues that have arisen. First, please remind your students that they are not to share food with other students, and please refrain from sending in treats to share at the lunch table. Both pose unnecessary risks to the health of other students with food allergies. Also, review the cell phone policy and letter emailed to Jr. High parents yesterday; under no circumstances may students access their cell phones during the school day.
On Oct 1, we began to enforce the dress code. Should you need information related to policies, uniforms, and guidelines, refer to our website:
https://www.stjudejaguars.org/
This week we topped the 50 percent mark on the parish fundraising goal. Students were given paper tickets yesterday, or click the link below to purchase e-tickets.
Students who sell and return their 12 stubs by Wednesday, Oct 19, will earn a dress-down day on Friday, Oct 21! Additionally, Father Joe will grant us an extra day off at New Year's when we meet our goal!

We have no school on Friday and Monday. Please be safe and have an enjoyable weekend.
Godspeed,
Mrs. Hibler
Scouts and those still interested
I would like to remind all Scouts (girl scouts and "boy" scouts) that this Sunday (Oct 9th) is the Scout Mass at 11 am. I know many will be out of town with the extra long weekend, but any student who is in scouting we ask they wear their uniform to mass and sit in the front rows.
We are also having a combined Pack/Troop meeting on Tuesday, October 11th, from 7p-8p in Carrabine Hall. This meeting is for all registered scouts and any boy or girl still interested in joining either Cub Scouts or Troop Scouting. This is open to any youth ages 5-17. We will be covering citizenship and the US Flag.
Food Drive Collection Starts Tuesday
Collection Dates: October 11 - October 21
Items in most need of:
Canned corn
Canned green beans
Boxes of Stove Top Stuffing
Instant mashed potatoes
Packets/cans of turkey gravy
Let’s collect more than last year; in 2021, we collected 7872 items!
The Homeroom with the most items collected will receive a pizza party!!!!
Patience Please...from extended day
In short, please be patient as we will release your student to you as soon as possible. You may find that shifting your pickup time by five or ten minutes off the hour will allow us to fulfill your request more quickly. Thanks so much for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you and your students at Extended Day!

Late Work Policy Reminder
St. Jude School teachers make every effort to post homework to GoogleClassroom by 5:00 pm each day.
A few reminders
Here are a few reminders now that school is in full swing:
- During morning drop-off, kids should be unbuckled and have all their bags ready before pulling up into the lane. If your student needs extra time or help, please pull over to the church lot and meet the staff at the crosswalk.
- Tardies are being issued for students arriving after 7:45am.
- Uniform reminder that boys may not wear earrings (in any grade level).
- Gym uniform clarification - hoodies are allowed to be worn on gym day, but may not be worn during gym class (safety issue), so all students should have a gym uniform t-shirt on underneath.

CYO OFFICIALS ACADEMY IS NOW ACCEPTING CANIDATES
Dear CYO Parents:
We are excited to work with you and your family in our 86th year of CYO in the Diocese of Cleveland. CYO is in the Memory Making business where children have fun, make friends, and grow in faith through sports.
Please make the time to watch this video to learn the latest in CYO.
There is a dire shortage (nationally/locally) of officials in all youth sports. Consider becoming a certified basketball official and get HS students to become an official through our CYO Officials Academy. Stand Up & Speak Up to ensure parents at all CYO games treat officials with dignity.
Thank you for all that you do to bring our CYO mission and values to life. Join us in praying for all of CYO's children, families, coaches, and officials.
Peace be with you.
