Do You Really Know The Touch Screen?

You may think that the touch screen hasn't been around for very long, but there you are wrong. In fact the first ever paper published on touch screens was in fact in 1965 by E.A. Johnston. Despite the name "Touch Screen" most products, like Apple's Ipad and Ipod touch, are not actually touch screen they are heat sensitive screens. Actual touch screens require pressure where as heat sensitive screens require heat (obviously), this is why you cannot use ipod etc. wth gloves on.

What is the touch screen?

A touchscreen is an electronic visual display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touching the display of the device with a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as astylus. Touchscreens are common in devices such as game consoles,all in one computers, tablet computers, and smartphones.
