The Fulton County School System is working with the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) to provide the opportunity for school system staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19. For the district to efficiently accommodate all employees through the vaccination process, elementary schools will be remote on April 12, 13 and 14.

Updates From Dr. Stabler

April 5, 6, 7, 8, 9: Spring Break

April 12, 13, & 14: Universal Remote Learning Days

It is hard to believe we are nearing spring break. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students, and parents for their flexibility, continued support, and hard work throughout the semester. We appreciate everything that you have done behind the scenes to support our students. A special thank you goes to the PTA and families for delivering a truly wonderful and memorable Teacher Appreciation Week! You have pampered us and have given us the red-carpet experience! I look forward to a strong ending to our 2020-2021 school year and 20th year anniversary. Thank you for your partnership. Have a safe and restful well-deserved spring break! We cannot wait to see you soon!

Update Your Calendar

Universal Remote Learning Days All FCS schools will be participating in Universal Remote Learning on Monday, April 12 – Wednesday, April 14 in order to support the district’s efforts to provide the 2nd round of vaccinations for all school personnel. Teachers will be posting additional details in their Seesaw following Spring Break. We look forward to “seeing” everyone on TEAMS April 12-14. You can click here for more information.

Milestones - Attention 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families

The schedule for Milestones Testing has been set. Testing for remote and face-to-face students will take place at Abbotts Hill Elementary School. Testing will begin as soon as school begins each day. It is important that your student arrives to school on time on these days.

Big picture

If your student is a remote learner, he/she can ride the school bus to school that morning, or you can drive your student to school and use the carpool lane for drop off. Remote students will need to be picked up after testing completes, which will be at approximately 10:00AM each day. Families of remote students will receive more specific information in the coming weeks.

If you have refused testing for your child, teachers will provide asynchronous lessons for your student to complete while testing is taking place in the building. Face-to-Face learners will complete these asynchronous lessons in an alternate location in the building. Remote learners will complete these asynchronous lessons at home. After testing completes, students will resume their learning following a revised schedule that will be used on testing days. Schedules will be posted via Seesaw in the coming weeks.

Teachers are working hard to prepare students and may provide at home practice opportunities as well. These assignments are appropriate for all students as they are grade level standards-based and not specifically Milestones related. Below are some resources for your information about the test. Fulton County Schools COVID-19 Information Site

The FCS COVID-19 site provides updates regarding resources, cases, positive trend rates, and pediatric reports. For the latest information on COVID-19 in Fulton County, please click here to access the site.

Fulton County Board of Health COVID-19 Reporting Site

The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an on-line portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases. The portal has been updated to include Spanish, Korean, and Chinese language options. FCS parent/guardians will find a dropdown at the top right for translations. Please make a report to the FCBOH when your student is COVID-19 positive, has a pending COVID-19 test result, or has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person. Also, please use this resource for official reporting rather than alerting the school and/or teacher. If you must engage the school/teacher, please do so after you have made an official report to the FCBOH. Lastly, to ensure the protection of our school community, please do not allow your child to attend school or school-sponsored events when he/she is ill and/or has any of the above COVID-19 concerns. Please click here for more details and consider posting this document in a visible location, i.e. the refrigerator, for easy access. www.fultonschools.org/ReportCOVID.
