Message From Mrs. Munsey
Hello RE Families!
It’s hard to believe we have completed a month and a half of school already! As stressors arise, along with the emotional and physical weight the new school year can add, I hope you are finding ways to show kindness to others as well as to yourselves. Oct-4-8 is Peace Week. This is the Kansas Anti-Bullying Week. Our theme this year is “Bully Free looks like me”. October is the month we talk about making healthy choices, as well as introducing anti-bullying topics. During the months of October, and November, my focus will be on teaching lessons around respect, empathy, inclusion, kindness, and compassion. Another way we would like to celebrate kindness is through encouraging and recognizing efforts that go above and beyond that of our every-day courtesies. I am sharing with you a kindness challenge that is sure to be fun for students and adults alike (these can be completed individually or together as a family), because when we fill someone else’s bucket, we fill ours tool!
A kindness bingo cards attached that contains a month’s worth of activities that demonstrate and inspire kindness and acceptance. Please complete as many activities as possible and please participate in our spirit days. Together we keep our school bully-free.
Oct. 25-29, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in anti-drug events, young people pledge to live a drug-free life and pay tribute to DEA Special Agent Enriqué “Kiki” Camarena who lost his life in the line of duty. His death started the RED RIBBON WEEK movement. We will also celebrate Red Ribbon Week with spirit days which will be posted this week and next in the Falcon Flyer.

Carloop Care & Reminders
Key Reminders:
-Please do not drop your students off or have them walk and arrive before 8:30, unless they are eating breakfast. There is no morning supervision until 8:30 and it is a safety concern to have students unattended.
-If your student is eating breakfast you may drop them off in the front carloop closes to the cafeteria no matter their grade or age at 8:25.
-DO NOT PASS in the carloop line....this is a big one and a HUGE safety concern. Please know we are working with students to get out of the car quickly and efficiently, but please give us those few extra safety minutes instead of passing.
-Please do not walk up any pets on campus during pickup and drop off. We love all furry animals....BUT not all children or families feel safe around certain pets.
-Please make sure when dropping off or picking up that if students need to get out of the car and cross across the street, that all family members are using the designated crosswalk areas.
Tell Us about YOU..... OR Exactly what you DO!
Won't you help us out? WHAT you do is part of WHO you are and WHAT makes YOU different at work all day might just be what one of our Falcons wants to KNOW!
