# Kraft Class Update

## Scholastic News: Ireland

In light of St. Patrick's Day, our scholastic news helped us explore Ireland. We learned about castles, countryside, cliffs, and cities in Ireland. Throughout the week, we had time for some St.-Patrick's-Day-themed creative writing too!

## Buddy Time: A Good Friend

Our buddies helped us write "A Good Friend" poem. Then we wrote our poem on the edges of a clover. Thanks for helping, Buddies!!

## Writing: Opinion

This week we discussed our opinions and practiced giving reasons for those opinions. We incorporated the Kagan Structure "Spend-a-Buck" to vote for our opinion as well as explain our reasoning with our table teams.

## Math: Ways to write a number

This week we focused on the different ways to write or show the same number.

27, twenty-seven, 2 tens 7 ones, 20 + 7, II .......

(the last example shows how the students would draw a picture of the number/use manipulatives)

Memory words: our, they, put, come, coming

Spelling pattern: words with "aw" and "all" (saw, draw, ball, tall....)

A new packet over Unit 4 "More Adventures of SuperKids" was placed in this week's Friday Folders. Remember to practice the memory words and spelling patterns at home daily. Thanks!
