UC Schools Decide to Drop the ACT/SAT Requirement for Admission

College Testing Information
ACT
Starting in September, students will have new options when they take the ACT: computer-based testing, section retesting, and superscore reporting. If students would like an update on summer ACT testing they should visit this link.
The next ACT test is July 18, 2020. The deadline to register is June 19.

SAT
Registration is now open for the fall SAT test administrations. https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org
For students who were registered for the June SAT or SAT Subject Test administrations only: Students can simply transfer their registration to any of the upcoming SAT dates. They won't be charged a change fee if they transfer their registration before July 31. When they log in to My SAT, they should select the option to change their registration. Then, they should follow the rest of the required steps until they get to the order confirmation.
For students who are eligible for a fee waiver: As always, eligible students will be able to take the SAT with a fee waiver. To learn more about weekend fee waivers, visit the SAT fee waiver page. and be sure to speak with your counselor.

Students will gain insight on how to approach building a list of schools and leave with some new tools that they can use in their college search.

This session will cover a few of the many learning opportunities abroad.

- Session Description: How does a college determine if we are a good fit for each other? Every University does things differently to meet the needs of their students. In this session, Admissions Representatives will break down the evaluation process in general and speak to how things work at their respective institutions.

In this session, students will learn the ins and outs of crafting a great essay from the folks who read them-admissions counselors!

- Session Description: Investing in your education is quite possibly one of the best decisions you can make. From grants to scholarships to subsidized versus unsubsidized loans--In this session students will learn some of the terminology surrounding financial aid so they can ask informed questions. Additionally, participants will learn about some of the resources that exist to help families plan to fund a college degree.

- Session Description: You met an admissions representative at a fair but before you apply you want to get to know the school a little better. Getting a feel for a college to which you are not in close proximity might require a little creative effort, but it can certainly be done!
