Message From Central Road School

Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal

A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 11/14/2021

Dear Central Road Families,

This week was one filled with continued learning and recognition! I am very proud of the hard work we continue to accomplish each day and am grateful for our school community. As we begin heading into our Thanksgiving Day season, I find myself reflecting upon all the amazing things we do together for our students and staff despite some road blocks we may sometimes encounter. We give thanks as we know it takes all of us working side by side to make our school amazing!

We too enjoyed honoring Veteran's Day as a school community this past week. Both our students and staff did a great job making our day a very special one! Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly communication. We hope you enjoy your weekend while remaining healthy too. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Kindest Regards,

Joanna Shostachuk

Parents, feel free to stop by if you will be coming in during P/T conferences as an option too. There are several items that we have accumulated over time. We also encourage you to put your child's name or initials in their clothing that way we can return it item to the child if it is lost. Thank you for helping some lost items find their original owners!

THANK A CENTRAL ROAD STAFF MEMBER

Teachers in general love this time of year. Central Road teachers and staff members take the prospect of beginning a new year to a whole new level. They prepare their classrooms, plan lessons, organize schedules, review student records, and think about all of the possibilities the year ahead holds. As much as we recognize their efforts and successes here at school, nothing means more to a teacher or staff member than a kind word from a student or his/her family. As we get the year underway, I invite you to take notice of the things you see your child's teacher do, hear your child's teacher say, or the things you hear your child gush with excitement about related to their teacher. We've included this simple form for you to submit should you feel so inclined to do so. Children in full day school spend more of their waking day with their teacher than they do with their parents. We thank you for entrusting your child with us! This is going to be a great school year.

Health Office News 11-14-2021

Please kindly send your child to school with an extra mask if possible in their backpack.

Shield Testing Update

Shield testing continues to take place one time a week at Central Road. Please send all SHIELD Opt-Ins/Outs to at SHIELD@ccsd15.net.

Our district began Test to Stay (T2S) Program on October 25th. We will work through the steps together if/when the need arises at Central Road. Thank you for reading our district's communication regarding this optional program.

Students continue to sit 3 feet away from peers masked while learning indoors. Mask wearing outdoors continues to remain optional for students and staff. We have recently adjusted our indoor eating/seating arrangements as best as possible to ensure students are closer to 6 feet apart when eating.

Return to school with COVID-like symptoms (with no known exposure)

  • If a person has a COVID symptom and goes home, in order for them to come back, we have to have a negative PCR COVID test and fever-free for 24 hours.
  • If they have vomiting or diarhea, they need to be symptom free for 48 hours and have a negative PCR COVID test to return.
  • If they have any other COVID symptom, they need to have a negative test to return.
  • If they decide not to get a test after a symptom was identified, they can return after 10 days.

If you have any questions regarding your child's health, you may reach me at patela1@ccsd15.net or at 847-963-5102. We will work together to ensure all guidelines are followed and clearly understood while keeping our students all safe and healthy!
