So what is Ready To Roll Day?
Ready To Roll Day is a day designed to help fundraise money for five different 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that my school, Beckendorff Junior High, have selected. Beckendorff JH's goal for fundraising this year is to raise $50K, so we can evenly donate $10K to each organization that benefits from this fundraiser. These five charities are:
-Ainsley's Angels, which helps disabled kids become athletes and to help include them in activities they normally cannot participate in
-Autism Rescue Angels, which raise money to fund autism medications, therapies, and treatments for the families of America who have a child diagnosed with autism
-Cure Sanfilippo, which is raising money to cure Sanfilippo Syndrome--a terminal childhood disease in which most kids don't live past the age of nine or ten years old--by raising money for clinical trials for a treatment that is being developed
-Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which are working towards better cures and safer treatments for leukemia and lymphoma patients, who are normally within the ages of eleven and eighteen
-Scout's Honor Rescue, which is a no-kill animal shelter that rescues abused, neglected, and malnourished dogs from the pound, off the sides of the streets, and BARC (an animal shelter located in Houston, TX)
Ready To Roll Day is taking place on April 15th, 2016. You can help donate by bringing pennies to school that day, but you can also bring dollar bills to donate.
