COVID-19 Update
As many are aware, Purdue University has placed restrictions on all Purdue affiliated events due to the recent world health concerns because of the COVID-19, from March 16-April 30. Purdue Extension programs (Extension Homemakers, Master Gardeners, 4-H, etc.) are included in the restrictions placed on events and travel.
Here is a link to the full letter sent to the Purdue University Community on March 10, 2020: https://www.purdue.edu/president/messages/campus-community/2020/2003-coronavirus-update-2.php
What does this mean?
- All meetings that have 50 or more people will be postponed or canceled. This includes the potential for 50 people toparticipate.
- Extension Educators will be working on how to deliver information in a different manner for events who have 50 or more participants. These will more than likely be conducted via an online platform. We do realize that not everyone has reliable internet and we will do our best to ensure information is shared with everyone.
- We ask that if you are not feeling well, or a family member has not felt well to refrain from participating at in-person Extension events.
- If you have any Extension Events with less than 50 people please make sure that you have hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes for participants to use.
4-H Event Details:
- Area X Tractor Meeting – This will be via Zoom or Webex, this will reduce the travel for everyone without cancelling the event.
- Shooting Sports – Please look for an email. The callout has been cancelled but we are sending important information through 4HOnline.
- ALL YQCA Classes – YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER. All classes have a MAX of 49 people. If you are not pre-registered you cannot attend. For the YQCA classes that are being sponsored by a club, I have sent you a sign up through Qualtrics so you do not have to pay as the club will pay your fee. If you did not receive an individual email then you MUST sign-up though the YQCA website: https://yqca.learngrow.io/Account/Login
- Fish Fry – Details to come.
- Camp Counselor Meetings – We will still be hosting these as we do not have more than 50 in attendance.
- Horse and Pony Orientation – You need to pre-register for the YQCA portion. We are going to do the orientation via zoom or webex. If you do not have good internet connection we ask that you RSVP to the orientation by emailing Kelsey at ksajdera@purdue.edu. Again we will cap the event at 49 people TOTAL including parents.
- Triton YQCA – The 4-H Meeting and YQCA meeting will be hosted on the 28th and 29th. You must pre-register for the YQCA event you want to attend.
Please understand that things are fluid and can change. We are doing our best to keep everyone up to date and informed. Feel free to contact the Extension Office with questions or concerns.
