You get this disorder while you are still forming, it makes you lose sections of your chromosomes making you lose genes.
WAGR syndrome effects
People who have the WAGR syndrome get urinary problems that cause bleeding, a kidney cancer known as Wilms’ Tumor, Gonadoblastoma cancer, foggy eyes, and mental retardation. Other effects are loss of appetite, low grade fever, weight loss, lack of energy, and swelling of the abdomen.
What can a doctor do to help this disorder?
The help this disorder, doctors can perform surgery to remove Wilms’ Tumor. Drugs can be used to help the foggy eyes see better. Mental retardation is treated at an early age by sending them to a early intervention service.
How are the people who have this disorder helped to feel better?
Most people with WAGR syndrome are totally normal so just treat them like you'd treat a friend and they will have a normal, happy life.
