Crow island woods
Crow island woodland trail
9/22
65 degrees ferenhight
Sunny but shaded by the trees
There was a woodchip path and very dense greenery in the sides of the path.
How many different species did we find
We found 43 different species. More species farther from the trail. The sun did not matter to where the plants were. There was a little less density of plants right next to a tree.
Choke berry
We saw this plant all along the trail. It was very noticeable
White snakeroot
They wee very noticeable and seemed to be in big clumps.
Touch-me-not
They we're vibrant plants in a general area but not always right next to each other.
Bird poop
This is a sign of birds
Emerald ash boar evidence
This tree that has been eaten away by bugs
Emerald ash boar evidence
This is the same thing as the tree just a piece of bark
Species distribution
They were pretty evenly distributed.
Factors that affect
It is mainly not tampered with except they take out buckthorn and poison ivy.
Any invasive or native plants/animals
There no invasive species except buckthorn and emerald ash boar
How could we increase biodiversity
We could take out the path so there is no humans running through it and remove the woodchip path.
