All EMS students will find meaning in the work they are tasked with.
Weekly Message
Team -
Over the course of the year I have heard great frustration voiced in regards to our current schedule. And - with the initial ask for schedule requests from each team the question of HOW we'll schedule this year has been continually asked.
Thus - I wanted to share with the community our plan for crafting the 2019-2020 schedule.
On Wednesday - Jim Monahan, Graham, Ashley, Kate Jesdale and I went to a schedule conference that helped us clearly articulate a timeline and work plan.
You'll notice that the timeline reflects a process that will allow for voice across our faculty. Please also note the Priorities (working draft) on tab 4. These priorities are intended to reflect the key priorities that will drive our scheduling decisions this year. Because while we can do anything we can't do everything.
On February 20th, before we leave for break, we're allocating faculty meeting time for teams to provide feedback on these priorities and categorize our scheduling requests under said priorities.
Additionally, I have also heard faculty members continue to consider what our 2018-2019 goals actually mean. Knowing that reality I also want to challenge us on February 20th to paint the picture of what EMS would look and sounds like in and out of classrooms when we are meeting these goals.
I am looking forward to this collaborative process and to collectively creating a schedule that not only reflects our goals but actively supports us in driving them.
Best,
Meg

TASKS
- With Valentine's day next week - what a perfect opportunity to spread the love by considering something you can do or you can do with your students to promote kindness and compassion.
- When students are missing from class - either at the start or in the midst of class PLEASE let the office know ASAP. Students skipping class - either by coming excessively late (more than 10 min) or remaining outside of class for an extended period of time will be given a detention. Please submit a detention referral slip to the office to ensure this follow up occurs. Detentions need to happen with the sending teacher in order to make up the work and complete the repair
- Please complete the RP survey to ensure you have a workshop for our District PD on March 4th.
- Please complete the pathway survey for feedback to the District regarding PD for 1919-1920.
- Please remember to submit your field trip form for approval at least 2 weeks in advance of your trip and then detailed logistics a week in advance to ensure all members of the community impacted by the trip can have time to plan.
- All drivers transporting students must have the proper insurance paperwork completed. Please see Mia for details.
