Newsletter Term 3 Week 10
Patumahoe School 29th of September 2021
Principal's Desk
Kia ora and greetings everybody
The end of term 3 is nearly here. Quite an achievement to get through the past month or so with your hauora positive and intact. Thank you for supporting and encouraging distance learning at home. I know that it is a juggling act but your efforts will have made a difference and helped our teachers cause when we hit the tarmac again in term 4. To the teachers and support staff who have contributed to the distance learning programmes, I take my hat off to you. Distance learning is a very unnatural concept in a profession where kanohi ki kanohi (face to face) relationships with our tamariki provide the crucial spark for a love of learning. Thank you for your enormous efforts to stimulate and facilitate learning throughout the lockdown.
I have outlined a comprehensive set of important dates for Term 4 so that families can map out the rest of the year until Christmas. Please have a good look and make note of the dates. They will be updated to the website and on schoolsapp too.
I miss the kids and my colleagues. I look forward to bright smiling faces streaming through the gates on the 18th of October, and some of the nonsense talk we occasionally have around the staffroom coffee machine. Little things we take for granted.
Take care and I hope you get to have a few outdoor adventures over the term break.
