a note from your director
Welcome to the last month of the school year! I cannot believe that the year is almost over. As the school year starts reaching its conclusion, the preparations for the next one have already begun! However, even though we are on the downhill side of this year, we have plenty of activities still to come.
Let’s start this news letter by congratulating our 2022 - 23 SLT! The Jaguar Band is extremely fortunate and blessed to have so many wonderful and talented students who want to help our band continue to push forward and contribute to our success! Again, CONGRATULATIONS to those selected as SLTs, and thank you to everyone that worked so hard for the auditions. We know that all of these incredible students will play a key role in our bands success this coming year!
The Jaguar Band Fundraiser is in full swing!! We need to blow the top off of this fundraiser!! The road to BOA Grand Nationals comes with a price tag. We have to cover the costs of transportation, meals and hotels, just to name a few items that we need to fund for this event! This is an undertaking of huge proportion, and we need everyone to push this fundraiser as hard as possible. Sharing through text, email and social media are the key. Make sure we get the information out to everyone we can!
We are continuing our efforts to recruit for our Color Guard. Last week the current guard members traveled to Dahlstrom to perform, build interest and create even more excitement around the awesome group. This week students will travel to McCormick to repeat that process and get even more students to become a part of our family!!
We also have several upcoming items on the calendar to remind everyone about. Please review the calendar for dates, times and locations: Spring Concert at the PAC, Wind Ensemble YOSA/Tobin Center Concert, Spring Training, Graduation, TSSEC, Color Guard Camps, Percussion Camps, the Breakdown Camp and the Aloha Celebration at Doc’s Drive-In!
Let’s keep the momentum moving forward towards the end of the year and roll on into the next! As we always say: “It’s a great day to be a Jaguar!”
Help send the 2022-2023 Jaguar Marching Band to Grand Nationals! Our group goal is $30,000! Only a little more than a week left to get us there!
