Go Tigers!
January Student of the Month
January's character trait was ATTITUDE. This month's winners exemplify what it means to have a positive attitude.
Student of the month is determined by teacher nominations with final winners picked by guidance. All winners are pictured below.
Nominees
(Pictured from left to right) Tyler Gayman, Benjamin Pollman, Skylar Benjamin, Cheyenne Snook, Faith Johnson, Brandy McClane, Christopher Moore, Tomiko Tommy, Taisean Shelton
Ben Pollman, Overall
Ben is a walking ray of sunshine. He can always be seen cheerful and confronts all things with a very positive attitude. His constant can-do attitude bodes well for him as a JROTC leader and team leader of the Armed Exhibition team. He is also a very positive influence on all those that are on the boys golf team. It is these traits that I feel he embodies the spirit of positive attitude at WHS and makes a perfect candidate for this month's student of the month.
--Rube Dowell
Brandy McClane, Senior
Brandy had such a positive attitude in helping 3 students in her class succeed! She helped them finish their assignments and turn in enough missing work to bring them from failing to passing at the end of the semester.

Counselor's Corner
10-12 Dual Credit
Students enrolled in a dual credit course will be receiving information about the dual credit opportunity during the week of January 14-18. Enrollment forms and payment for dual credit are due February 8 in the Counseling Office. Please contact Ms. Maassen with any questions.
ACT Test Coming Up
There will be an ACT test offered at the high school on Tuesday, April 2. Students who are interested can sign up in the Counseling Office. The test will cost $44.50, which is slightly reduced from the normal cost. Juniors are strongly recommended to consider this opportunity. For students planning to attend college, the second semester of Junior year is a great time to take the ACT for the first time. This allows time for students to retake the test before the college admissions process begins next Fall. Higher scores can lead to a higher chance of acceptance into the desired college and may lead to more scholarship money. Students who do not sign up to take the ACT on April 2 will be expected to take the ASVAB test on that day.
Next ACT and SAT Test Dates
