Community Conversations
- Teams are working with ASD TCs and the GISD County Wide Transition Committee to hold Community Conversations here in Genesee County.
- Clio held the first Genesee County Community Conversation last year. They will be holding their follow up conversation this spring. Davison, Grand Blanc, Atherton, Bendle, Bentley, and Madison Academy will be holding Community Conversations this spring.
Any of your ASD TCs can help you discuss Community Conversations and how to go about holding one in your community.

Learning Opportunity for Parents and Educators
Michigan Alliance for Families will be presenting the Learning Opportunity “Understanding the IEP” at the Erwin L. Davis Education Center at 2413 West Maple Ave. Flint, MI on Saturday 2/9 from 10:00-1:00.
This Learning Opportunity is free for Parents and Caregivers with a light lunch provided. This program is great for Parents, Caregivers, and Professionals who work with Children with disabilities or suspected disabilities who receive services through Special Education.
Have you ever wondered:
· What does all this paperwork from the School mean?
· How are my Child’s goals established?
· Is my Child receiving the rights services and accommodations?
· How can I be a better Advocate for my child?
This Learning Opportunity, with our State Wide Trainer Sandee Koski, can answer these and more questions.
