Spring Break
A MESSAGE FROM DR. VENGHAUS
Bear Branch Family,
I hope everyone has had a great spring break! This week we will jump right back in with a busy week. In many ways we will start gearing up for STAAR tests. The dates for these are below. Attendance is important everyday, but please ensure students are at school for testing.
The Friday before spring break students enjoyed our Spring Pep-Rally. Winter/Spring sports were represented and celebrated. Big thank you to our band, choir, color guard and cheerleaders for performing! And shout out to our students for winning the student/staff tug-o-war!!
After students dismissed, our staff participated in our 3rd Annual Egg Hunt. Thank you to our parent volunteer group for helping to organize the event and for all of the wonderful donations. This is a great way to show appreciation to our staff and they had a wonderful time.
See everyone on Monday.
Proud to be your student's principal,
Julia

2023 BBJH STAAR Testing Dates
Choir
Last week, we took three BBJH choir groups to the UIL Concert/Sight Reading Evaluation. The students work the entire nine weeks on three songs and are critiqued and given a rating on a score of 1-5 (1 being "superior"). In another component of the evaluation, students are handed a piece of music they have never seen before, and are expected to sing it "at sight" after only about six minutes of practice.
I'm VERY proud to say that all three groups walked away with a "Superior/1" overall rating!!!
