Speed Dating -Apps you will love!
Our secondary librarians all took part in a speed dating with apps and websites in our last meeting. They all listed one app or website they found effective and worth sharing with fellow librarians.
See all the cool apps and sites here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QjpF7eRULlvuxlzrwMbQkMjG6YgQtopF_BFekefWqYw/edit?usp=sharingStudents of ALL ages can now easily make videos using Adobe Spark!
"Spark for Education is a free service that Adobe has launched to address the concerns that schools have had about Spark since it's launch a few years ago. The biggest of those concerns being use by students under the age of 13. Spark for Education is designed for school-wide deployment (much like G Suite for Education) in a manner that is COPPA compliant. The school will be able to manage student and teacher use of Spark including access to the service itself. Additionally, Spark for Education will provide students and teachers with free access to all of premium features of Adobe Spark." -Richard Byrne, Free Tech 4 Teachers
Writing letters to those in need
Norma says that after the 6th graders in the ELAR class read The Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Pena she spoke to them about Meals on Wheels and the elders that they serve. She said that they had a great conversation and were excited and engaged with writing letters to the elderly.
The representatives of Meals on Wheels say they are very excited to be receiving letters for the Holidays. If your students are writing letters and you have yet to pony or bring yours to me there still is time. If you could get them to me by Monday Dec. 17th or Tuesday Dec. 18th that would be great. -Joe
