CB West High School
Updates from Mr. Bucher
The Program Planning Season has begun! Students are now full-swing into the process of selecting courses for next year. On Wednesday, 1/14/15, Sophomores and Juniors viewed a presentation in Advisory reviewing the requirements, timeline, and procedures for registering for their courses. Over the next few weeks, counselors will be visiting English classes to review course selections and answer any questions. Students should enter their course requests into the Student Portal by Sunday evening, February 1st (by 11pm). Counselors will then meet individually with all students to review their course selections, make any appropriate changes, and answer questions. Verification sheets, listing the student's selections, will be sent home for parent review and signature on March 18, and all requests must be finalized by March 25, 2015.
Please see the Program Planning Page of the Guidance Website for instructions, timelines, and links to the Program of Studies, the Advisory presentations, and other helpful documents.
2nd Semester Back-To-School Night
You are invited to the Central Bucks High School West Back-to-School Night on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The majority of students will begin entirely new 9 week or 18 week classes on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. The second Back-to-School Night provides an opportunity to meet these new teachers and hear a brief presentation about their classes.
Your student’s schedule can be found on the parent portal. Please print that schedule at home as we will not have paper copies at West on that evening. Classes will meet on a “B” Day schedule, which will impact music and physical education classes. Maps will be available.
Representatives from the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology will be in the lobby to discuss their programs.
In the event of inclement weather, Back-to-School Night will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015.
The time schedule for February's Back-To-School Night is located on CB West's Website.
Congratulations to the Seaboard Event Planners and Performers for a Memorable Concert!

A CB West Performance....
On Friday, January 16, Jon Taylor's Materials Processing Class and Jeanine Waldron's Theater class presented their adaptation of Drew Daywalt's book The Day The Crayons Quit to the first and second graders of Doyle Elementary. The West students had the unique opportunity to take part in the Arden Theater Company's "Teacher in Residence" Program. Jon Taylor's students spent a day studying with Steve Gravell, who talked to the students about careers in set design and gave the students tips on building their own set. Jeanine Waldron's students enjoyed five master classes with actor Bryan Kerr, who worked with the students on refining their characters for the performance. Please feel free to join Linden Elementary's second graders and the Parent Council for a special encore performance on January 28th at 9:30.
