Christ Child Academy Newsletter
March 7, 2019
From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger
As we begin the Lenten journey this week, it allows another opportunity for each of us to reflect on our sins and how to renew our ourselves to be a better person as we walk each day with Jesus. I encourage parents to have these discussions with your children at home in helping them foster their relationship with Jesus.
Spring break begins on Friday, March 22 with a 1:00 pm dismissal. School will resume on April 1. We all look forward to this break and I hope everyone enjoys their time to relax and energize so everyone may finish the school year strong.
Looking ahead, we will be administering the Wisconsin Forward Assessment in grades 3-8 from Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 18. Please see your carrier for more information regarding this testing. A more definite schedule will be sent home with your students. It is important that the students be in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests.
Christ Child Academy is excited to announce that one CCA alum has earned Valedictorian honors from the graduating class of 2019. One of the recently named Valedictorians from South High School is Ashley Paltzer. What a wonderful representation for our school!
The 2019-2020 CCA registration packets have been distributed! Current parents have until April 18, 2019 to reserve their placement at CCA. After this date, we will open registrations to all new families on a first come, first serve basis.

School Choice Update for 2019-2020
We are proud to announce Christ Child Academy is now a part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program through the State of Wisconsin Department of Instruction. Please visit www.dpi.wi.gov/choice for more information. The application is online only and found at www.dpi.wi.gov/choice. The application is open February 1 - April 20, 2019. Please note, the system can be slower and more difficult to get into the first few weeks of February so please be patient. The school choice program is not first come first serve so you do have time to apply. Please watch the school calendar and the newsletter for a "School Choice Lab" night to be held at CCA for any families that do not have online access. Any questions or concerns can be directed to Brenda Binversie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 920-459-2660.
School Mass & Field Trip Attire
Students are to wear their CCA polo shirts with the logo along with dress or Khaki pants or a skirt for the girls for all Mass days and on all field trips, unless otherwise denoted. Polo shirts are to be tucked in for both boys and girls for Mass. Any additional items such as sweaters or vests must have the CCA logo and be worn over the polo shirt. These additional items are available on the Land's End website. Yoga pants are not to be worn to Mass except under a skirt and in a solid color. Students volunteering at the St. Peter Claver Food Pantry are to wear Mass attire as this is considered an off-site field trip.

Safeguarding All God's Family
If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at www.archmil.org and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.
Box Tops for Education
CCA can earn money from clipping Box Tops found on various products. When you buy items, simply clip the Box Top and bring it to CCA. The Box Tops are submitted, and our school receives a check which is used towards our activity fund. It’s another easy way for you to help the school by purchasing the products you already use! Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to collect the Box Tops, too.
Kwik Trip Milk Moola
CCA will receive 5¢ (five cents) for each cap or milk bag top they redeem from Nature’s Touch® products. The program will only accept specially marked caps and bag tops that feature the Milk Moola symbol. Thank you to Paula Hilbert, who has been overseeing this program for many years!
CCA Family Camping Weekend
The CCA Family Camping weekend is scheduled at Kohler Andre State Park for September 27th, 28th, and 29th of 2019 . Camping sites can be booked 11 months out, so reserve your spot now as they fill up quickly! If you have any questions, please email Nick Reinl at firstname.lastname@example.org.
