January 20, 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Eames Way School is pleased to offer once again an After School Enrichment Program for children in second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. This exciting program is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 2 and end on Thursday, April 6th. The program will run six consecutive Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. In the event of a school cancellation our make-up date will be April 13th. Class offerings are listed below, but because this is a tuition-based program, enrollment numbers will determine final class offerings. The anticipated tuition cost will be $60.00 per student (which includes a $15.00 non-refundable deposit) for each of the following classes:
∙ Sew-It Grades 2,3,4,5
∙ Chess Club Grades 3,4,5
∙ Board Game Adventures Grades 2,3,4,5
∙ Outdoor Adventures Grades 2,3,4,5
∙ Science Club Grades 2,3,4,5
∙ Come Play with Clay, Paper Mache, and Paint Away! Grades 2,3,4,5
Brochure/application forms will be sent home through a Virtual n-EWSletter on Friday, January 27th and should be returned no later than Friday, Feb. 3rd.
The classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Please encourage your student to carefully select choices 1, 2, and 3. ALL CHOICES MUST BE FILLED IN. Classes fill up quickly and sometimes a student will receive their 2nd or 3rd choice.
You may submit your payment through Unipay, or your child may bring in cash or check for $60.00. Please make a check payable to the Town of Marshfield (memo: EWS:ASEP). Registrations are due by Feb. 3, 2023.
The Eames Way School looks forward to providing all participants of the After School Enrichment Program with a very rewarding experience. THIS IS AN ADVANCED LETTER TO LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS YEAR’S AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM.

ILLNESS PREVENTION
1) HANDWASHING (see picture above)
2) HYDRATION
How much water does my child need?
The amount your child needs will vary depending on their age, size and level of activity. For children under 8 years of age, at least 4-6 glasses of water is recommended. For children older than 8 years of age a minimum of 6-8 glasses is recommended.
If your child is playing sports or is very active they will need extra fluid. Kids will also need more fluid on hot days or when unwell.
How do I know if my child is hydrated?
Frequent bathroom breaks are the easiest way to tell if your child is hydrated. You can also look out for these common symptoms of dehydration
Headaches
Poor concentration
Thirst
Cracked lips
Dry mouth
Constipation
Lethargy
Dark urine
3) SLEEP
How Much Sleep Do I Need?
How much sleep you need changes as you age. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society recommend:
Pre-School 3-5 years: 10-13 hours per 24 hours (including naps)
School Age 6-12 years: 9-12 hours per 24 hours
Teens Age 13-18 years: 8-10 hours per 24 hours
Habits to Improve Your Sleep
Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on the weekends.
Make sure your bedroom is quiet, dark, relaxing, and at a comfortable temperature.
Remove electronic devices such as TVs, computers, and phones from the bedroom.
Avoid large meals and caffeine before bedtime.
Get some exercise. Being physically active during the day can help you fall asleep more easily at night.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
