Cooper Landing School Updates
State Testing
Testing will take place from April 3-6 and April 10-12 for grades 3-10. If you have plans to be away during this time, please let your child's teacher know.
AK STAR ELA/Math: Grades 3-9
Alaska Science Assessment: Grades 5, 8, and 10
Dates to Remember
April 7 - Vacation Day - No school for students or staff
April 14 - Early Release - Students will be dismissed at 1:45
May 12 - Field Day at Hope School
May 15 - Graduation at 6:00 pm in school gym
May 18 - Last day of school
Custodian Needed
Cooper Landing School is in desperate need of a custodian! The shift is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week and lasts through May 23. You get summers off (what a deal!) and start up again on August 2. You get 6 paid holidays, 2 weeks off at Christmas (unpaid), and spring break in March (unpaid). And the best part is the appreciation of staff and students who will be forever grateful for a clean, tidy school! You can also apply to be a substitute custodian and choose your work days.

Hope School Happenings
Hello Students and Parents,
We will have testing over the next few weeks and respectfully request that you refrain from picking up the students from Tuesday through Thursday during this brief period. Testing will take place in both Mrs. Peck and Mr. McKibben's classroom. Testing is an important time for quiet . Each student is required to have silence during the time of the testing. All necessary testing tools, such as calculators, etc. shall be provided within the testing application. Cell phones are prohibited during testing. All cell phones will be collected prior to testing. Each student will be required to power it down before we collect the cell phones. We encourage students to get plenty of rest during testing days and have a little breakfast for brain power. Please note to speak with your child about these points.
Our last day of skiing at Alyeska is Tuesday, March 21st. We hope each of the students have a wonderful time. So much thanks goes out to our community for all of their many donations for our students and to our Parent Teacher Organization for their hard work on fundraising.
We only have weeks to go in this final quarter. It has been a year of positive growth and new memories of a happy learning experiences. Lets keep that going. Encouraging words and actions always tend to bring out the best in all of us. Keep up the great job!
Community Nights at Hope School will resume next school year. Thank you all for showing up and having a great time. We have sincerely enjoyed seeing each of you. Tiny Tots will continue until the last week students are in attendance.

Tiny Tots Gym (Ages 0-5):
Tuesday and Thursday of each week through January and February from 9:00am - 11:00Bring your tot and play in the gym while you chat with other parents! This is a parent supervised activity. There will not be any school supervision. Please see flyer for further details.
