Kirk Fenton News
31st January 2020
Dear Parents / Carers,
This week has been very busy for both pupils and staff. Children from Key stage 1 enjoyed a dodgeball festival at Sherburn High School on Thursday, as always living out our values of respect and perseverance whilst having fun and admirably representing Kirk Fenton. Well done to them!
Miss Hendrickson and Mr Symes spent the day with the Diocese of York on Wednesday finding out what it means to be a teacher in a Church school and how important that is to us here. Miss McHale has been observing how we teach reading at Kirk Fenton so that we can ensure that our teaching is consistent across school and supports our pupils in the best ways possible. On that note, we are always looking for volunteers to support reading in school either by listening to children read or by reading stories to the children. I am also looking for someone who could spare 20 minutes at the end of each day from 3pm to run our library efficiently. Let me know if you would be interested in helping on a voluntary basis.
Finally, our governors had a productive meeting on Tuesday evening. They approved several new policies including our E-Safety policy, Behaviour Policy and a new Anti-Bullying Policy. These can all be found on our website.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams
