Greetings from Yucca Heights Elementary!
Greetings Yucca Heights Parents,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! We are excited to bring our Coyotes back and welcome many new little coyotes. This year we are proud to celebrate 6 years of educating the Yucca Heights Elementary community. I'd like to share some beginning of the year information for our families.
DRESS CODE-Coyotes Dress for Success 2022-2023
Monday-Tuesday school polo shirt and uniform pants.
Wednesday YHE Spirit Shirt with jeans. (No torn or frayed jeans) Otherwise regular uniform.
Thursday - College Shirt with regular uniform pants.
Friday - Dollar dress. Dollar dress should be appropriate for school and must follow the district dress code.
Drop Off and Dismissal Routes
KEEP OUR COYOTES SAFE-We appreciate your patience and cooperation by following our traffic procedures during drop off and pickup to include using crosswalks and sidewalks when walking up to the school. NEVER drop your child off in the PARKING LOT or STREET even if traffic is stopped. Children must be dropped off in a designated drop off locations in front of the school or in the drive through area by the canopies. Also, make sure you stop when buses are loading or unloading and have their stop signs out with red lights flashing.
For the safety of our students, our drop-off and pick-up zone (lanes) should only be used in the morning and afternoon. During school hours red zone area(drop-off & pick-up area) should remain without traffic and parking.
All people picking up students during the day must park in the parking lot, get off their vehicle, and walk into the school. No one is allowed to park in the Fire Lane (Red Line) area normally known as the drop-off-pick up area.
Early Pick-up
For any Early pick-up we would like to remind you that identification is required at all times. The person picking up the student MUST be on the contact list. If neither of these requirements are met, the student will not be permitted to leave school grounds. Also, there is no student pick-up after 2:00pm any pick-up MUST be before this time. We also do not make any changes on transportation over the phone. Parents MUST come in to make any changes.
Early Outs

Library
We will have open library for parents this year. The open library will be on Friday's at 9am to 10:30am. Parents are allowed to check out books using the student’s login. Only one book can be checked out per student, and they will return books every Friday.

August 11- Board Meeting at Gadsden Administrative Complex Board Room
August 24- Title 1 Meeting at Yucca Heights Elementary Library at 9:30am
August 25- Board Meeting at Anthony Elementary School Cafeteria
Attendance
Coyote parents welcome back! Just a reminder that school starts at 7:40 a.m. please make sure your child is on time everyday, as attendance is a very important part of your child's education. After 7:50 a.m. your child will be marked tardy and given a tardy slip. Attendance is taken at 9:00 am and 1:00 p.m. everyday, any student not present for attendance will be marked absent. Parents if possible please try and schedule any appointments or events for your child afterschool so it doesn't affect their attendance. If your child is absent please notify the school as soon as possible to excuse your child's absence. If you have any questions regarding your child's attendance you may contact Luz the attendance clerk.
