Coding the Future

Free after school coding program at BMMS!

Students will be introduced to the world of coding with Scratch, a visual programming language by MIT. They will also learn the basics of the Java programming language through BlueJ.

By the end of the course, students will:

Who teaches these classes?

A group Mt. Carmel High School (MCHS) students who are volunteering to teach middle school students to code! Each student has extensive coding experience. This includes taking the AP Computer Science class, online programming courses, and coding courses outside of school. A few of us are also members of MCHS Robotics and Computer Science Club.

When and where will these classes be held? How much will they cost?

These classes will be held at the Black Mountain Middle School Library Computer Lab every Friday from 2:45 to 3:45. They are free, and open to all Black Mountain Middle School students!
