Our Mission: To Glorify God by making More and Better Disciples
Looking Forward
Greetings family and friends of First CRC!
As you will see on Sunday, our campus has been transformed into a "Shipwrecked" VBS paradise! [see photos below]
Vacation Bible School is only three days away and we already have 113 kids registered! Last year we ended with 107 online registrants and had an average of 135 kids! So it looks like we will be pretty close to 150 this year! Wow!
Also, the VBS "Serve Team" is in excess of 70 people this year! And that isn't including all of the people who donated time with setting up, donating food, props, and monetary donations, and the men and women who will be on our clean-up crew on Friday.
It truly takes a village to make this all possible! On behalf of the VBS Coordinators, leadership, and staff, "THANK YOU!" for making it all possible!
VBS LAST-MINUTE NEEDS
1. Friday Clean-Up Crew - Perhaps you can't take the whole week off like the other 70+ volunteers, but you would still love to help out! Look no further! Would you consider donating 4 hours of your time in Friday between 1 and 5pm? Here are a few more details:
- VBS will end at 11:45am followed by a BBQ lunch until 1pm (you're all welcome to attend!)
- Clean-Up will be 1:00-4:30 - Even if people are still mingling outside at 1, there will be lots of tear down we could get started on inside.
- At 4:30 I will order pizza and serve ice cream (and root beer floats) and you'll be out of there by 5pm!
- That's it! 4 hours max if we get enough help!
If you can help, please email Sarah at szonneveld@live.com.
2. Contribute to the "VBS Wish-List" Fund - While our team worked hard to stay within their allocated VBS budget, this year they wanted to do something special -- to put a Bible, T-Shirt, Bag, and CD in the hands of every VBS participant! Knowing that we already have over 40 unchurched kids showing up, we think that is money well spent! To make that happen, we needed to raise an additional $1500. We are currently sitting at $1000. That means we just need $500 more to reach our goal.
If an handful of you contributed $100 each, we would reach our goal! To make a contribution to the VBS Wish-List Fund, please click the link below:
4. Pray with us! - So much time, energy, and talent goes into making this event possible, but at the end of the day the goal isn't to display fancy backdrops and props, or to have the best crafts and games. The goal is to share the love of Jesus with every child and family that participates in VBS that will extend beyond VBS week. Please pray that God's hand moves through this ministry!
ROOTED - Exploring the Christian Faith
This week is week 3 of 4 in that class. If you haven't been able to make the first two sessions, no problem! Please join us for weeks 3 and 4!
We will meet in the Garage this Sunday after our AM service starting at 11am.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
Are you interested in joining the FPU class? The group has already met twice, but there is still time to sign up. If you are still interested, please call the office.
OUR NEXT SERMON SERIES - ROMANS
Well, our "Storyteller" series is coming to an end this Sunday where Pastor Lambert is going to share the most well-known parable of all - the parable of the "Prodigal God," more commonly known as the parable of the "Prodigal Son."
Pastor Lambert and I hope and pray that the exploration of Jesus' parables was an enriching time and that the Holy Spirit prompted further growth in your life in this last season.
REMSCAPE "WELCOME VIDEO"
What that means is a camera crew will be on our site on Friday, June 15th ( the last day of VBS) as well as Sunday, June 24th.
Joshua, the owner of REMSCAPE, is a devout Christian and very professional! [I attached a link to his most recent video he did for the "Hanford Thursday Night Marketplace" below] Rest assured his team will provide the utmost professionalism and will not encroach upon anyone as we come together to worship God that Sunday morning. He will work hard to be as invisible as humanly possible while having a camera on your shoulder.
Joshua will use that video footage of our campus as he crafts our Welcome Video for our website.
Take a look at the most recent video he did for the Hanford Thursday Night Marketplace below.
