Quiet Library? Not Us!

Issue 5 - April 2014

DEAR Week is Coming, April 7-11!

Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Week is back again, April 7-11!! Please remind students (and yourself) to bring a book and start each day by reading for the first 10 minutes of first period.

Every student and teacher who reads during the first 10 minutes of the day during DEAR Week can enter the raffle to win a $5 Dunkin' Donuts Gift card. The basket of entry forms in the front office will be available this week - please help yourself.

As a reminder, the white cards are for students who participate and the yellow forms are for faculty (you get a chance to win too!) Completed entry forms can be put in the library mailbox or sent down to the library with a student.

Every reader has up to 5 chances to enter and one student winner and one staff winner will be announced on the Friday of DEAR Week.

Thanks for supporting DEAR with your classes!

Tasty New Arrivals!

This Month's Tech Tip: ZipGrade

With the emphasis on District Determined Measures (DDM's) that makes up a part of the Educator Evaluation System, a handy tool for quick quizzes and student check-ins is ZipGrade - a scantron-type application that uses devices with iOS (iPhones, iPads, etc.) to instantly grade multiple choice assessments.

Watch the brief video below and ready your questions for the demo that will be presented at the faculty meeting on Tuesday, April 8. Or stop in and talk with Suzanne if you would like some help using this tool with your classes!
