A continued look for: maximizing instruction time with efficient transitions
The fourth grade students in Holly McElveen's room entered their classroom after a test and were instructed to enter, get out their notebook, and work immediately began.
Smooth transitions with high expectations will provide the additional instructional time that helps students progress

A K Morning Experience in Heather Hudgins classroom: Can you identify the different sprouts?
Another way to increase high quality instructional time is to intentionally and wisely select your Morning Experience activities so that this time helps students grow academically.
Also, Morning Experiences can be a time to assess creatively lessons taught the day before. Do students still remember yesterday's lesson--this is good formative information.
